These are not typical Mexican traditional tacos. These are globally inspired fusion, cross-cultural tacos with different twists... like spicy chicken tikka tacos, falafel filled tacos, paneer tacos with Indian taste etc. A slice of red velvet cake at the endwas perfect way of ending the lunch. Though, this is fairly new chain of restaurants, it has already won my heart. I love thesefunky tacos much more than traditional tacos. You won?t find these creative tacos elsewhere. At the lunchtime, it was fairlybusy but the service was quick and we didn?t have to wait long. The staff was friendly. There are many options for variety oftastes, so I am sure everyone will love something, although everything was delicious. First we tried Velvet Taco at thisChicago location and I am glad we did it. I loved it so much that we went to Nashville location again when we visited Nashville.I loved the chicken tikka tacos and falafel filled tacos so much that I ordered the same thing next time. But, I want to tastetheir entire menu. I will definitely visit Velvet Taco at every available opportunity. Parking was a pain, as we had to parkour car far away and walked down to this place. Just YUM! This is not your traditional taco joint! This place puts a creative twist on an old classic! The location is rather... cozy and no frills, which I like! The best part is that they?re OPEN LATE! I stuck to the traditional?one steak (#11), onesalmon (#15) & one shrimp (#17). I?m anxious to return to try the pork taco (#8.5)! I had lunch here last week when the weather was hot and sunny. I ordered the fish n chips and mexi-cali shrimp tacos. Both were... tasty, but the shrimp taco was a bit spicier than I anticipated. I also got the chips with queso blanco. Portions were good andfilling. We sat outside and they brought our food to us. I'd go back to try different tacos. Read more
