I like many others who have written reviews on here, have eaten here many many times. I considered the chimacum cafe the best... place to eat in Jefferson county. I kind of consider it a family coffee shop. Not a typical big city restaurant where you haveto dress up. It's just a place where us locals get together have a meal talk with friends and leave the table feeling so fullthat you can't move. Of course there's times when the service isn't going to be that great for one reason or another. I've beenthere had great service when the place was packed and people were waiting to get in. I've had terrible service when the placewas packed. I've had the best service ever when no one was in the restaurant. And sometimes the food has been so amazing and itwas like going to your grandma's on a Sunday afternoon for dinner. Other times it was sort of like the discount from the freezerand you're just heating it up for me? But generally I would say the food is pretty good. I know the breakfast portions areginormous. And the pie is so good. I don't know why it's being so maybe the business just wasn't there it took a big hit duringthe beginning of the pandemic and that's really sad because we love this place. And I hope that whoever gets it will continuethe family style dining and keep it local keep it warm keep it friendly because we need that. Read more

The pies are delicious! Must stop here for a slice of pie and then get one to go! Food was good. Solid dinner style club... sandwich and the BLT was double decker. Nice spot! Read more

Well-known for their fabulous pies. A homey place, popular with locals. Fast and friendly service, with very generous servings.... On the other hand, the roast beef tasted (and smelled) very old -- barely edible -- and the meatloaf had the texture of wetcardboard. Maybe a burger would be better. Read more

We visited your entablement tonight for the first time in over a year. I for one couldn't wait to have your prime rib dinner. ... We invited our son and daughter-in-law to celebrate their anniversary. The food was delicious as usual, but I can't sayanything good about our waitress, Joyce D. She was nice and all, but seemed to be a bit scattered-brained. It took about 10mins after we seated ourselves to even get a menu. The place wasn't busy at all, it was about 4 p.m when we arrived. Aftergetting our menus seemed like forever till she got back to us to take our orders. When she finally got back to our table aboutto take our order so gentleman came up and needed something and she just took off to help him, after helping him she visitedother tables and forgot about us. I could see is the place was crowded, but it wasn't. I had asked for two go-boxes and acouple of bags. When she came back all she brought were to boxes. We have been coming there for over 40 years, it's about a45 min drive and never had this bad of service. Read more
