I'd give 3.5 stars if I could. Above average for sure but nothing stellar. Good service, good food (the octopus app was... especially good) but not wowed. We left full without spending a small fortune so that's a win. Would return. Read more
Incredible service both beforehand while making my reservation and during the dinner. Madeline Schmidt was such a great point... person. Jill, Hampton and the rest of the wait staff (I apologize I do not remember any other names) could not have been moreattentive to our large group in the best way possible. All of the food and drinks were fantastic. Please move the eggplant parmspecial to the regular menu = YUM. Food was very good. Homemade pasta was cooked to perfection. Small bites (duck fat hummus, "everything" knots) came quickly and... easily shareable. House cocktails were original but pretty pricy. Service was fantastic. Our server was very friendly andattentive. Dessert (apple cake) was outstanding. Casual environment and good vibe. The food is very good and all made from scratch and to order. I had the vodka rigatoni and it had a sweetness to the sauce and... less creamy flavor than expected but still very good. We also got the hummus with pita and the pita tasted like it was homemadeand was DELICIOUS! The hummus was so fresh and yummy tasting too. My mom had a burger and said she really liked it. Lastly, thes'mores brownie sundae was very good but it definitely had too much marshmallow fluff making it very sweet so we just scoopedsome off and then it was perfect and amazing. We visited Crown Republic Gastropub while visiting Cincinnati for a show at a local theater. The reservation was early (for us)... at 4 PM. Upon entering, it was clear we didn’t need reservations as the tables were completely empty and only a few people atthe bar. Regardless, the host chose to seat us in the very back corner of the restaurant right next to a curtain separating usfrom what sounded like the back of the kitchen. The staff in that area were so loud we couldn’t talk over them. They wereusing very inappropriate (racist) language. There was no need to seat us there and it made most of the visit uncomfortable. Bythe time we were considering asking to be moved the restaurant had filled up so there weren’t many options and we decided tosit through it. The food was decent. We started with the Burrata & Tomato Jam, the cheese had no flavor and the jam was way toosweet, this cam recommended from our server. It was a large portion and we did not finish it (because of the size and desserttaste). We next split a wedge salad that was excellent, the dressing and blue cheese were great. I ordered the stake andfrites, the steak was about 40% fat and gristle, so most of it was thrown out. It was, however, cooked as I requested. Theamount of shoestring fries was massive.
