TL:DR version: good food period. Long version: I want to call this a hidden gem, but there?s signs for it all around the... Clarendon area - that being said Clarendon isn?t exactly a high traffic area. Regardless, if you live within 50KMs of here, it?swell worth it. We asked the owner what he recommended and ordered that: an ?ultimate burger? and butter chicken. He said it wasall handmade and made to order and it tasted like it. Found this place by chance after a round of golf. It was mid afternoon and not sure we could get a late lunch but this place... provided an amazing meal for the three of us. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. Would visit again if I was in the area. Read more
What can I say, it's an Indian/Sri Lankan owned country restaurant halfway between white hicktown and a rich neighborhood. Owner... is a riot, and always has a smile on. Great guy; his (brother?) Seems a little more reserved and quiet, but his cooking is onpoint. Great selection of homey meals no matter where you're from, and even though it's a little more pricey, I think it's worthit. I'm a big eater so I'll order something and a salad, which always fills me to brimming. I'd recommend the Greek salad. Was out riding my motorcycle on the back roads in the Claremont area and had been meaning to try this place out. Stopped in for... lunch and had the chicken and shrimp pad thai (spicy) which was very good. Just the right amount of spice for a restaurantwhich has to cater to varying tolerances for spice (i tend to eat much spicier than what i got). The dish was light, fresh andtangy. I went back the following day with my family as i wanted to try some other dishes. My wife had the butter chicken, Ihad the depot burger with bacon and fresh cut fries, and my son had the fish and chips special. It's all freshly prepared sothere's a bit of a wait but it's well worth it. The food is excellent and they use good quality ingredients that you cantaste. I will definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes. Finally, the owner Bala is hilarious, a gracioushost and quite the character!! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.
