This is some of the freshest most unique sushi around. I have done both omakase and regular service. The chefs handle... everything with care. The food is amazing and full of flavor. It is one of the few places that is not overcrowded with peopleor booming with music. You can truly enjoy the experience and your company. Read more

WoW! just Wow! So great to be able to have a high level restaurant in Michigan that offers not only an Omakase but several... types to choose from. Great to have an offering that is on par with what I have been able to enjoy in places like New York andSeattle. Service - friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! Quick to make sure that your water is kept full. Awesome toexperience their wide knowledge of sake and selecting the right one to go with the course. Top Notch! Location - unassumingfrom the outside and once you step inside is a very clean and well designed space where you feel comfortable and able to focuson your time. Great selection of music that is at a comfortable volume Food - Not sure how to describe and not sure I want totry. If you want to have truly excellent sustainably sourced experience go here and try everything, you will not bedissapointed Read more

Absolutely loved my experience at Sozai. My husband and I opted for Omakase and I am so glad we did. The food was delicious and... the portions were generous. We had a blast sitting at the sushi bar and watching the chefs prepare each dish. The chef thatserved us was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us pair our meal with different sakes. Will definitely be coming back again!Thank you for a wonderful experience. Read more

First things first, food was excellent but overall disappointed with the whole experience. We had really high hopes for this... restaurant. Our friend raved about it and talked about how the chef gave them suggestions and explained the omakaseexperience. We chose the 10 course meal which was the Chiso. We were sat on the flank end of the counter, in which we did notget much interaction with either the the chefs. We wanted to get the full experience with watching the sushi chef preparing ourmeal. Parties that were placed directly in front of the counter were interacted with much more than us and the other party nextto us (the very end of the counter towards the restroom) . We made reservations 1 month ahead for my birthday and told them onthe reservations we would be ordering the Chiso. So you would think that they would plan more accordingly for people that arepaying more money. Communication is something that they could work on such as if there is a certain order to eat the specificsushi. Also wished the chef would remind you what part of the course you are at. For instance, "this is your final course beforedessert." Again the sushi was excellent, your experience will vary depending on where you are seated. I don't think the cost ofthe meal was worth it without the experience of seeing the chef prepare your food and the interaction of the chef. Read more
