Las Chavelas. If you're looking for good mexican food in North Idaho give this place a try. The chips are hot. The "hot" salsa... actually has a lil kick (hard to find here in The Panhandle). The food is freshly prepared with lots of meat filling. The birriatacos came with a side of hot sauce that starts to scratch the itch when looking for some good heat and was definitely spicierthan the hot salsa served with the chips. This little Mexican restaurant is super cute inside, the staff were very friendly and knew what they were doing ???? the owner... also made his rounds making sure everyone was happy and content. The food was delicious and the proportions were very generous.I have lived in many different states and have tried many many Mexican restaurants and this tastes in at least the top 5. Therice has plenty of flavor and the beans were prepared perfectly. We ordered the green sauce chicken enchiladas and also redsauce enchiladas. The shredded chicken was amazing! When I eat out I tend to pick at my food to check for color, consistency,and to make sure all ingredients look legit and fresh and when I picked at the enchiladas I was very impressed with the chickenthat was perfectly shredded and very flavorful.
