On a Saturday evening, I had dinner with my extended family at Noodle King Restaurant. We have been coming here for years and... the food has always consistently good. Tonight, we enjoyed the Beef Kew, French Style, Deep Fried Spicy Salted Sole Fillet,Xiamen Style Rice Noodles, Eight Treasures Casserole, and Sautéed Snowpea Leaves. The Beef Kew, French Style consisted ofwok-fried steak tips served with broccoli in a sweet and savory brown sauce. I didn't try the Deep Fried Spicy Salted SoleFillet but there was no trace of it by the end of the meal. The Xiamen Style Rice Noodles consisted of mei fun cooked withchicken, shrimp, bell peppers, onions, bean sprouts, and egg a light sweet and sour sauce. The Eight Treasures Casseroleconsisted of braised fish, roast pork, chicken, scallops, squid, imitation crab, braised tofu, carrots, napa cabbage, andsnowpeas in a flavorful brown gravy served in a casserole pot. The Sauteed Snowpea Leaves consistes of snowpeas sauteed withgarlic. Our other favorite dishes include Roast Duck, Cantonese Style Roast Pork, Wonton Noodle Soup, Beef Brisket Noodle Soup,Walnut Shrimp, Happy Family, Live Lobster, Beef Chow Fun, Black Mushroom and Duck Feet Casserole, and Salted Fish, Chicken, andTofu/Eggplant Casserole. I?ve been coming to King Noodle for a while now and yesterday I had the worst experience. I ordered 2 combination fried rice and... it was rotten, slimy and did not smell good. I?m not sure what to say other than this restaurant was everything you want you local Chinese takeout place to be and more. It... was honestly one of the best dinners I have had in a while. Pulling up the restaurant looks a bit unassuming, you need to pullaround back to get to the entrance. Walking in it?s not a huge restaurant but service is really quick! Our waitress was so niceand she was the only one working up front when we were there but she was on top of her game. Sitting down we got tea and waterpretty quickly and then we got to look at the menu. It?s a pretty encompassing menu they had congee to pad Thai and pretty mucheverything you could think of in between ????. Settled on some wonton soup, Mongolian beef, and a noddle dish that I cannot forthe life of me remember what it was but it was EXCELLENT. The portion sizes? EVEN BETTER FOR THE PRICE! Wonton soup was anawesome starter, the wonton wrappers had a solid bite to them which I honestly prefer over the paper thin ones you usually get.The broth it came in was also pretty stellar. The Mongolian beef was pretty much perfect. The sauce was excellent, the beef wasnot even a tad chewy and the green onion and onion were left with a tiny bit of crunch that tied the dish all together. Thenoodle dish that I am now kicking myself for not remembering was also an excellent choice. It was a bright yellow from turmericand had chicken, shrimp, bell peppers, and slight spicy heat that really made the whole dish. I came here with a friend whousually has bad acid reflux when eating out that is usually set off by processed foods or something of that nature and is usedto suffering whenever we eat out (they were ready to take the L) but leaving they said they didn?t feel not a bit of heartburncoming on which for some reason makes me love this place even more.
