Unfortunately, there is no option for no stars. I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. First and foremost, the... waiting time to be seated exceeded over 45 minutes. I am an older woman who quite clearly has time to be wasted, but like thisis very absurd! Next, when I was seated, my waiter did not come by to take my drinks order for 20 minutes. This is getting quiteridiculous at this point. Then, she finally came, along with an attitude. Also, a little boy was walking around the restaurantand I think if my memory can recall someone saying his name was "Daniel." He looked around 13 years old and was bussing tablesand working very hard. That is child labor! You cannot have that in this establishment. I almost called the police, but wantedkarma to play out for them. I have not even placed an order yet and she comes with attitude. I did not order any attitude, sowhy am I receiving it?! Lastly, I did not get the chance to taste the food, as I was appalled by the terrible service and leftpaying only for my coffee and water. Will not be coming back here anytime soon. For the new Memphis location. Used to be a great diner named E's. Unfortunately prices went way up, quality and service went... down. Cant imagine any regulars at Es will be coming back. Shame to see E's go. Read more

We got to the Waffle Iron right before it opened on my hubby?s Birthday (party of two, just him and me). We were the second... folks in line. Small wait to get seated in an empty restaurant (ok, I thought maybe the just need to get warmed up) but, after1.5 hrs after ordering to get our food... really! Were they chasing the chicken to lay the eggs for my scrambled eggs? Then Iwas disappointed with the lack luster waffle. I mean, if you are going to name a place THE WAFFLE IRON that waffle better bemastered... it fell short! We won?t be back... service yucky and ok food that took ages to receive. Read more

I went there with my family. My husband first went in to get a table. There was no one at the front. There was an also that... beeped when he went through the door , that is supposed to tell the staff that someone was there, but no one came. He waited forfive minutes before someone came out of the kitchen. Once we ordered it took a while to get our food even though no one else wasthere. Three of us ordered the biscuits and gravy, one of us ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes. The biscuits and gravy werecold and salty. The gravy had strange tiny bits of sausage. With the biscuits and gravy you get grits and eggs cooked howeveryou want. The grits were cold and had no seasoning at all, the eggs were cold and overcooked. The pancakes were hot and fresh.We told our waitress about our problem she offered to have the food redone for us or have a portion taken off the bill. We optedto have our bill lowered. My visit to the Waffle Iron was a good one. The waitress helped us get what we need to satisfy our hunger. The kids menu was... simple and met our needs. In a time where pumpkin flavor is the rave. The sweet potato pancakes were right on time! It was allthat I dreamed of and more. I will be back! Read more
