Nalley has been in the process of nickel and diming it?s customers for a while now. The once, wonderful fast casual experience... is now relegated to the equivalent of a healthy version of a 2am visit to McDonald?s as far as experience goes. In the pastyear, the prices have gone up noticeably. I can understand that part given the current economic conditions of 2022. The problemwith increased prices is exasperated when they come with substantially smaller to go bowls that fall apart from the moisture andoutright cheap forks hidden behind the veil of being environmentally friendly. The increased prices also hurt a bit more whenit?s a battle to get your order done properly. At each topping I have to ask for more than the equivalent of a few spinachleaves or so few cucumbers that it looks like a toddler added them. But the 3% service charge for credit cards take it over thetop. I typically don?t get a receipt but noticed that the amount on the register didn?t match the amount on the card terminal.When I reviewed the receipt, there was a line item after the subtotal that was labeled as a ?nontendered charge?. So this finaltime a came to this location I asked why the two totals were different. The Nalley employee told me it was because Howard Countyrequired a 3% fee on all credit card charges. This is something I simply do not experience at other businesses in Howard Countyand could not verify with the Howard County government. What was verifiable though, was the sign I later noticed that says ?A3% service charge is applied to all store sales? which feels like a company decision to forward the credit card transaction feetheir merchant services company charges onto the customer. It?s one thing to pay $12 for a salad. It?s your business model. Iget that. It?s also one thing to charge $3 for salmon that some locations like the one in White Marsh have resolved to mash intotiny pieces and provide only a sprinkling of. Staff routinely sees my dad and me, so they are really friendly. Most items on the menu taste really good, and i've ran only... into one thing I didn't like, but that's a personal thing I wasn't aware of prior.
