Menu for The Upper Crust Bakery, Cafe, and Catering in Columbia, MO

We had Saturday brunch there. I had totally different experience from other reviews. The service was great, the environment was... lovely, but food was not so satisfactory. We ordered a Baked French Toast, an Omelette, and a Bagel Lox, plus a Croissant to go.My bagel lox missed the herbs and cheese, at first I thought it might just be unevenly distributed and didn?t talk to them, butI couldn?t find any of them until I finished the sandwich, thus, no proof to argue. And the egg omelette was under-seasoned, toomuch dairy flavor but not enough salt. The baked French toast was okay, a bit dry but maybe that?s the texture they wanted toachieve. But, the croissant, I don?t understand how could a profession bakery produces such an unacceptable croissant, lacksdistinctive layers, the butter melted and made into a whole buttery-dough bread. The flavor is good which is credit for the goodingredients, but making a croissant into a buttery bread is just so below the profession level. Overall, not happy with thefood! Read more

We chose Upper Crust bakery to cater our wedding desserts. We ordered a mix of 300 mini-desserts to be delivered to the wedding... venue: Mexican wedding cookies, buckeyes, carrot cakes, and fruit tarts. The order was easy to place. I happened to visit thebakery during a time when the baker was working and only had to wait for a few minutes for her to meet with me. The dessertswere delivered on time and tasty. This place got the best treats and cakes in Columbia, but the worst service. I tried calling to schedule an event and no one... picked up the phone and always it was directed to the voicemail. And no one got back with me for any of my voicemails. However Icalled the Cafe and a nice gentleman agreed to set up a meeting to meet an discuss the event. When we arrived at the venue heseems to be very disoriented and didn?t seems to have a good plan of what he about to do with us. However the workers didn?tseems to be happy with the management either as one of them started complaining, which I think totally unprofessional at hisend. The day of the event the food and the cake was done perfectly. They looked amazing and also tasted best. But again theservice was at its worst. The guy at the bar kept sliding into the kitchen more often so our guests had walk behind him to orderdrink. This place needs serious management redone. Read more
