I've had a lot of smoked brisket all over the country and this brisket is EXCELLENT. The cornbread is EXCELLENT and the collards... are EXCELLENT! Also had the smoked pork which was good but do yourself the favor and get the brisket if you're going to be intown once. Great sauces too! Slaw and Mac & cheese were ok but we were just blown away by everything else. Read more
Food was wonderful. We stopped in from Richmond Virginia. We had the 4 meat sampler. Brisket, pulled pork and Chicken and Ribs.... All the sides were delicious and the cornbread was delicious too. We even bought some of the homemade BBQ sauce to take home. Wehave tons of leftovers left as well. I ordered delivery through UberEats and EVERYTHING was delicious! I had the L&C with beef brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, mac... and cheese, and cornbread. My daughter ordered 10 smoked wings with dry rub and potato wedges. I tried four sauces and they wereall good (the vinegar based sauce and Carolina Gold were my favorites but the bbq sauces were really good too). My son and I are in Columbia for a weekend trail racing event. While here, we decided to find a good place to eat. It was a toss... up between Railroad BBQ and a gourmet hamburger place. After some discussion we decided to go to Railroad BBQ, and we're glad wemade that choice! When in an unfamiliar town looking for a good place to eat, I always hope for the best but am oftendisappointed with over-hyped reviews for an underwhelming place. This was not the case with Railroad BBQ. It far exceeded ourexpectations. We've eaten at several barbecue places in the state and have our favorites, but Railroad BBQ surpassed themall. First, let's talk about the place. Railroad BBQ is located next to an actual working railroad track. The naming of theplace is genius. If you can remember the barbecue place next to a railroad track, you will remember the name. The building looksas if it used to be a gas station in days gone by. But whatever it used to be, it's now a beautiful barbecue restaurant that isinteresting and welcoming. Inside are several tables, booths, and counter service, and the outdoor area provides patio seating.The indoor dining area is filled with pictures, drawings, posters, sports pennants, banners, and more that reflect thepersonality, passions, and pursuits of the restaurant's founder, Kevin Gray. Next, let's talk about the people. We werewelcomed by a friendly young lady at the counter who took our order. We were invited to sit wherever we wished, and soon ourfood arrived. The same young lady visited our table a couple more times to check on us and ask if we needed drink refills oranything else. Another man also came by to check on us, and a third man also checked with us asking how everything was. Well here is an up coming threat to BBQ in Augusta. Decided to drive here from Augusta to see what all the fuss is all about. I... had the L&C with ribs, brisket, spicy collards, hash, and sweet corn bread. My company had the smoked chicken plate, potatowedges and white rice. My other guest had BBQ pulled chicken sandwich, Coleslaw and potato wedges. Overall everyone enjoyedthere meal. I would say that the ribs were amazingly tender had a perfect pink smoke ring and were fall off the bone. The ownerKevin was an amazing person to meet and provided me with how his restaurant was first being established in 2015. This man youcan tell has many stories to share on his passion for Railroad BBQ. Additionally the staff was Uber courteous and respectful.Also I would say London was a credit to the establishment.
