So sad to write this because I know the economy has hurt this industry. But a quality stop is more than clean facilities and... good food. It's welcoming hosts who are ready to serve their patrons followed by very aware waitresses and waiters ready toserve. This location had neither. I was told to sit anywhere, so I did. My husband pulled gas and went to the restroom. Stillno servers nor menus. No greeting. After 15 additional minutes, we left. Dissatisfied, hungry from our travels anddisappointed. Read more
I give this place a 1 only because of the way it looks inside I love the inside and how it looks. My grandson went to sit down... at a table and every table was sticky, come on people use an sos pad on them. Our food got there it looked great but it didn'teven have a taste of an ham and cheese omelet and the biscuit was moist but had a funny taste to it I was scared to taste thehash browns. I took three bites of my omelet and one bite of biscuit. Our grandson had pancakes. come on even frozen pancakesare good but no not there he said they don't even taste like pancakes and his bacon was so close to burnt it wasn't even funny.So he left all of his food also. My husband managed to eat about half of his food which was also a ham and cheese omelet. Butnow we know why we were the only people in the restaurant. Oh and to top it off as we were leaving there was something stickyunder the table that got on my shoes and when I walked on the rug going out the door the rug decided to leave with my shoe. Gave it a 1 star for friendly server. The food was precooked. Ordered hot cake & eggs and sausage. Sausage frozen Pattie?s,... served cold inside. Hotcake made sometime earlier and kept under heat lamp. Eggs were fine. Spouse ordered biscuits & gravy.Biscuits frozen and cooked been cooked for awhile gravy was hot. Read more
Ok where do I start on this review! I travel from Kentucky to Alabama 1 month in each state back and forth. I have done this... for the past year and a half now and have wanted to make Stan?s country restaurant a resting point for me at some point. WellMay 27th 2022 was the day I finally made that stop and it was around Noon. So on to the review the store front which is also agas station looks great. Very clean nice employee (1) for the station part, all though it?s very cluttered from merchandise forsouvenirs and snacking. The restaurant part is nicely decorated kinda reminds me of a Cracker Barrel atmosphere plenty ofseating tables and booths. They lack employees had two servers and they were not that busy maybe 5 tables out of 20 were filled.The floor was nasty had to walk around food and stickiness, tables were clean but like half attempted. One waitress seemed veryirritated that she was even there but luckily mine was in a good mood. I ordered the Meat Loaf dinner with 2 sides and a rollsweet tea to drink. The tea was very good. Meatloaf was very dense and hard crust on bottom and the taste was just bland. Mac ncheese had no taste added salt just to help that out and the mashed potatoes and gravy just straight up tasted like broccoli. Iwas very displeased with my meal but I did not complain to anyone as it was my choice to stop there for my meal. Now this is notto say any of there other food isn?t good it may be and to each there own on quality and taste of their food. This is strictlymy own opinion. This place is nice! We were returning home to Alabama from a trip to The Ark Encounter in Kentucky and we stopped at Stan's for... lunch. I was intrigued when I saw that they'd been in business since 1947. They were busy, so it took a long while, but it waswell worth it. The food was very good and shopping the gift shop was fun, too.
