I was hesitant to eat at an airport but it was really good. People were friendly and quick. Food was good but could have used... a little larger portion. Price was good. You are on the runway so you can watch planes while you eat. I'd definitely go back. Read more

For the second time while looking for a good place to eat. The search has brought us to a local restaurant that is next to our... in a local small airport. This time it happened to be blackerby's hangar 5. It seems like mostly locals in the know come hereplus any pilot leaving or arriving stops by to have food since it did have a bit of wait. Once we were seating service was quickand friendly. My fiance and I read the menus and quick ordered we both had the chopper breakfast which was a country fried steakover potatoes, with eggs and gravy plus toast your choice of bread. Mine also came with mushrooms. Food came out super quickafter order that it caught by surprise. Piping hot we ate our food while looking out at the view of the airport. We could watchsmalls plane land and take off. It was a really awesome experience. We would definitely visit again while visiting Columbus IN. Read more
Excellent food for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of what I ate but it was all delicious. I had... fluffy pancakes The size of the plate along with two eggs prepared just as I expected and bacon. Their sweet tea is really goodas well. Others in our group had the meatloaf which he said was excellent and was a generous portion, and chicken fried steakwhich was prepared just the right way with gravy on top. Also had mac & cheese which was tasty but it could?ve been a littlecheesier. Certainly worth a stop to experience the food and enjoy watching the planes as a taxi in and fly out. My coworker and I gave this place a try after another coworker recommended it. My GPS found it perfectly, but I would have never... known it was there had I not been told about it. Located inside the little airport, it has no signs outside or inside. The onlyway we knew we were in the right spot was due to the diner scent that led us to its door that had a small name decal on it. Wearrived around noon on a Thursday and this place was PACKED!! What a view!!! So cool how you can see all the planes coming andgoing! Parking was really easy, too, since it?s at the airport. We waited just a minute to be seated and the waitress greetedus promptly. Really the fastest service ever regardless of them being so busy. My coworker got the tenderloin and I opted forthe breakfast all day option and got The Tomahawk. The chorizo was some of the best best I?ve ever had which was quite asurprise coming from a Columbus IN airport. I saw like 5 things on the menu I wanted to try so we?ll definitely be back.
