Best steak house I have ever been to! The only problem experienced was a wait, but it was SO worth the wait! Tender steak and a... well-cooked potato. The only entree on the menu is steak so if you don?t like steak I guess that?s a problem, but I LOVE steak. Read more
We have eaten here twice in the past month. I have ordered the sirloin and the ribeye cooked medium rare and they were cooked... to medium well both times. Checked the ticket and the order was taken correctly. The second time we ate at the restaurant, wesat at the front where we could watch everything being prepared. BIG MISTAKE! The steaks are plated and placed on the counterby the single entrance/exit door. Plates are placed within inches of people paying their bill or awaiting their to go order. We watched customers and employees talking to each other over the counter, speaking directly over somebodies food. We watchedfor ours and were going to refuse it if we saw this happen with our order, but it did not, so we accepted it. When we went topay, we had to wait a few minutes as the employee that was taking payments was preparing baked potatoes on the very same countermentioned above. She was smashing the foil wrapped potatoes with her bare hands on the counter while another employee wascutting into the foil. She was dolloping butter and sour cream onto the potatoes right there on the counter, a foot and a halffrom where I was standing. When she took our payment, she wiped her hands on a towel, took and swiped the card, and handed itback. As I signed the receipt, she was back to preparing baked potatoes right there in front of me again without ever washingher hands. I am not in the medical field, but taking payment from people and then preparing food without washing hands justdoesn't seem very hygienic. Due to sanitary concerns, we will not be going back. Amazing! I asked for A1 and the waitress asked me what was wrong with the steak? She reluctantly found a bottle and brought it... to the table... I put a few dribbles on the first bite and then tried a piece of steak without it... needless to say, I finishedthe rest of my 12 oz strip without any A1 near it. When they say, best steaks ever... My Husband and I have been looking for a good steak house. A coworker told my husband about Old Hickory and how good the steaks... always were when he ate here. We decide to try it out on our Anniversary. We were so happy we decide to try this place. BOTH OURSTEAKS WERE COOKED TO PERFECTION AND REALLY TENDER. GREAT FLAVOR!! We don't splurge on steak dinners very often, but we will bemore than happy to choose Old Hickory again for when we do! Read more
