Great food. Everything was perfectly cooked and the flavours were delicious. I could eat the beet and goat cheese salad every... day. So good. Read more

Yikes. Went here for an anniversary dinner and we can?t understand why this place has the ratings it does? Service was terrible... but food was worse. I could have made better pasta with sauce in a jar. Will not be coming back Read more

We told the waitress we were splitting all of our order, but when it came, there were no salad tongs to split the salad, and the... main meal - well, we had to split it ourselves. We're used to getting our meal split (and don't mind paying extra for it) whenwe share our order. (Obviously not big eaters) The food is great, nevertheless, and not inexpensive. It feels good to support alocal business. We can't put our finger on it, but we didn't feel welcome, just served. Read more

While I have let up somewhat on my don't eat seafood unless you can smell the salt air rule over the years, I do still like to... maximize my seafood opportunities when on either of the coasts. And finding myself in the Comox Valley for Christmas, dinner atToscano's Mediterranean Grill for some good West Coast seafood was on the menu. You can even see the Comox Harbour out thewindow -- when it's not pitch black so early in the evening... There were some interesting pasta and other grill options on themenu, but as discussed, I was here for seafood. For my starter I went with the Lemon Chili Garlic Prawns, described on the menuas Wild-caught red prawns sautéed in chili, garlic, and lemon butter. Topped with microgreens, they were served in a sizzlingskillet, which kept them piping hot as I worked my way through. The lemon wedge was hidden by the greens so I didn't see (anduse) it until I was half way through. While well-cooked and flavorful, I would have liked a bit more chili heat. Still, anexcellent starter. For my main, while I was tempted by some seafood pasta, I went for a more fish-forward main: Pan-SearedSteelhead, described on the menu as Fresh steelhead with polenta, grilled vegetables, carrot puree, orange caper beurre blanc,Eatmore Sprouts microgreens. Very nicely plated, and a good serving of fish. My only down-note would be that the veg was a bittoo charred (ie, burnt) in some places. Otherwise an excellent dish. The fish was cooked nicely, flaky with a nice sear. Tastysauce. For me the surprise standout was the polenta, that was so creamy and delicious with an excellent toast on top. Every bitewas delicious. Overall the food was OK, nothing special, we ordered 4 plates of different dishes and they all were just spaghetti (there's... Fettuccine, Penne etc.). Usually Italian restaurants have variety of pizza, desserts (like Teramisu).. The service was goodalthough the restaurant was very busy. Read more
