I went to Aoki No Chuuka on a Thursday evening and was the only person dining in, which felt a little strange. I got the mapo... tofu, which is a popular Chinese dish in Japan. It came with a clear broth soup and rice. It was good, but lacking the strongflavor I expect from this dish. The ground pork was also very sparse. Overall I thought the food was just okay. I love everything about this joint! The food is excellent. I?m a huge fan of chuuka style and Aoki no Chuuka does not... disappoint. Whether it be champon, niraleba, gyutan kare or really anything else, it always hits the spot. The owners are greatpeople and I always look forward to seeing them. I?m not sure if you call a place with younger owners a ?mom and pop? shop, butthe sense of community invokes it. Read more

Small, cozy, AUTHENTIC little Japanese bistro with fantastic, amazingly cooked and presented meals. I had the Pork Cutlet Curry... Rice (deep-fried pork cutlet, sliced and placed atop a bed of rice with thick brown curry sauce underneath) which was just asgood as my Japanese Mom's take on this traditional dish.
