Excellent place for different types of katsu. Clean place and food came out quickly. Meals came with shredded cabbage, small... piece of tofu, miso soup and a side potato dish. I'm a Kagura fan and love the El Segundo and Torrance locations, so I was pretty excited to find a Costa Mesa location. The... food was great, the usual Kagura standard. However, service fell very short. One of the waitresses seemed half drunk - she wasvery loud, got my order wrong, and had to be asked twice for my check. When my check finally came, it took at least another 30minutes before I can finally leave the restaurant - they charged my credit card incorrectly and couldn't figure out how torefund me. While I love Kagura, I'll just stick with the El Segundo and Torrance locations. Read more

Awesome restaurant! I ate the filet pork cutlet set. The pork is tender and the outside is crispy, the side dishes are tasty,... rice is good quality. They cared quality of the ingredients. They have the most authentic Katsu I've had outside of Japan. Very crisp and flaky breading and the meat is very tender. The... portions looked deceptively small but is very filling. The Katsu cutlet is very thick and it comes with miso soup, rice, cabbagesalad, and a few side dishes. The food took a while to come out, we waited about 30 minutes for our dishes.
