It's a hit or miss place from me opinion. The hot and sour soup was...salty!!?? Huh, like it seems like they were reaching for... the vinegar but got the soy sauce instead cause it really tasted like soy sauce soup rather than hot and sour soup. Some of thedumplings was very good but some were just meh~ unique experience but again, the dishes were just hit or miss. Read more

If you're in/visiting Costa Mesa stop by Paradise Dynasty located in the South Coast Plaza. They offer Shanghainese food along... with Dim sum. Their Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao is definitely the hit but our favorite out of the sampler was theirsignature. Their Spicy Szechuan Crispy Chicken was made properly and true to its nature there is more peppers than chicken. Also recommend their Dan Dan noodles. Rich flavor and noodles are cooked just right. Came to South coast plaza a few times and finally got to try this restaurant. We ordered the popular Specialty Xiao Lung Bao and... not disappointed. Enjoyed different flavors. The vermicelli appetizer is refreshing. The fried pork chop is a must try.Surprisingly tender juicy with good flavor. The prawn and kurobuta pork wanton in signature pork bone soup is my favorite. Thesoup is light but full of flavors and wanton is delicious. Stir fried noodles is my least favorite because it's just so so. Ihad better. Crispy vegetable spring rolls is not bad. Dessert must try is the Red bean glutinous rice roll topped with peanut ofyou are not allergic or you can ask them not to put peanut powder on top. Overall speaking good dinner and will definitely tryagain. Highly recommend the Specialty Xiao Lung Bao, Fried pork chop, pork bone soup noodle and rice roll as dessert Read more

This place is classy, service is top notch and decor is upscale yet comfortable. This is in the new food area connected to... Bloomingdale’s. Downsides are no outside eating area and bathrooms are downstairs and part of the common area. Still minorquibbles when you consider the food experience. I give a high rating due to the quality and variety of dishes, especially ifyou like Xiao Long Bao (steamed dumplings). If you have guests visiting consider this as an option or if you have thathankering to stray outside your usual zone. Read more

It’s finally here - a great competitor to Din Tai Fung. Great food, good service, and an extremely similar dining experience.... And the best part? Little to no wait! Rice Cakes - Super good, with a smoky brown sauce. Vegan option and hugelyrecommend!! French Sautéed Beans - Super good as well, and vegan option, recommend trying these. XLB - Very good flavor andtexture, very very similar to the competition. Vegetable Dumplings with Chili Oil - Phenomenal flavor and totally vegan! Theveggies inside were a great mix and the chili oil added a nice touch. Pork Bao Buns - OK, but perfect but good. Red Bean XLB -Very good. The red bean flavor wasn’t overpowering and they were a great finish to our meal. Overall, highly recommend thisplace. It’s a familiar experience to DTF in every way, and the wait time is significantly less in many situations. We aredefinitely coming back to try more dishes. I also love to see that it’s so easy to order vegan here!! Try it and you won’tbe disappointed. Read more
