KFC Corporate you need to come fix your store. The staff are very clearly unable to deal with operating this location. We waited... a few months since its opening to visit because of the horror stories we read and heard. We ordered our food online to ensure wewould not have to wait in a line up, yet when we arrived at the time given, with only 3 other customers in the store, we had towait a further 35 minutes for our order. They had not even begun to cook our order by the time the email said it would beready. While we waited the staff seemed to bumble around trying to fulfill the two or three orders they had going in a panic, showing their obvious lack of training. I cannot blame the operators as they were obviously over their heads with just a handfulof orders, I would be confident to say this is an issue from the very top. Perhaps an executive should visit this location totry to rectify the situation. Near to the completion of our order one of the staff asked if we wanted a brownie to make up forthe 125% wait time we were experiencing, we kindly refused but pointed out that they had cans of pop in place of bottles we'dpaid for. They then said to us they had no bottles, to which I have to wonder why did I pay extra for something they didn'thave? I asked then if they could throw a couple extra cans in to balance the cost out and they suddenly found more bottles.Unfortunately the bottles were in a cabinet seemingly near an oven or heater, not a cooler so we got warm drinks instead of evenroom temperature or cold. I grew up in this community and when I was a child KFC was one of the most exciting fast foodrestaurants to visit here. When they left it was a bummer for sure and when this location was announced I was quite excited toshare it with our children. Unfortunately after this one experience and the knowledge that it's not uncommon, we won't bepatronizing it again. I'll take the extremely dirty walled version from Campbell River over this one. I love KFC. I really do. But my first visit to this location last night was a massive disappointment. If I lived closer I would... have returned my meal - but the cost of gas to drive back makes it hardly worth it. 1. Pop was flat!! They need to check themachine! Wish I noticed when in the store. 2. The ?rib? piece was soggy and weird and missing some skin. Not sure what?s up withthat. 3. The drumstick was tiny and somewhat deformed. There was more meat on the wing drumstick!!! 4. Very long hair in thebox!! I?m bald. So definitely wasn?t my own! I?ve waited years for KFC to come back to the Valley, and honestly not sure I?llever go back. Read more

Went here a month ago and only once. Waited 15 minutes after ordering just for mediocre food. The place was dirty, the line was... huge? and I get it, they had 5 total people in the entire place. But it should never have opened with a skeleton crew. Was happyto see KFC back in the valley and they screwed it up. Thank god Popeyes opened so you can get some actually good chicken in town Read more

Was surprisingly disappointed in the lack of care. There was a small lake of grease left in my 2 peice box.. fries tasted soapy... ( guess thats better than burnt) they messed our online order up twice, which resulted in nearly a hour extra wait afterarriving there to pick it up originally. Not enough staff, and the current Staff are working to hard to be bothered caring. KFC was amazing when I was younger.. now it's gross and pitiful in comparison to what it used to be. Frankie's fried chicken issuch better quality chicken in my opinion. Shame about that.. Read more

I was glad to hear a KFC was opening in Courtenay. However, it was not the kentucky fried chicken I know... After being open long... enough to get on track, all I can say is Disappointing... I would say it was missing 9 of the Colonel's 11 secret herbs andspices. It was tastless and some of the pieces were either soggy and others seemed like they were sitting under a heat lamp fora while, or tossed in the fryer to reheat, even though they were busy. The coating was thin and bland. Like so many of the KFCfranchises, the owners are cutting back on the legendary coating or extending it with cheap flour or cornstarch, and loweringtheir quality of chicken to increase their profit$. They open up, make a pile of cash for a few months until many figure outthey are getting shorted on taste and quality, and no one wins in the end. Maybe they ran out of the coating mix like they ranout of gravy...? lol It took 15 min. just to order but the dear girl at the front was doing her best. Sure they areunderstaffed that is understandable, but I blame the owner for the bad KFC.. I've seen several KFC store owners have to sell orgo under on the mainland, because they think people who grew up eating and loving KFC, won't taste the difference, or willsettle for less. Of coarse those who don't know better might come back, but this owner better be careful... or one day he toowill wonder where all the customers have gone, and getting them back won't be easy. We used to get our occasional KFC fix 50 kmaway in Campbell River, and that is where we will be going again. Hopefully they are not taking lessons from this owner... Read more
