I was curious about this place because it's always packed. I took my family to have a quiet dinner and loved the place. Their... sushi it was great. My wife thinks this is the best sushi in the area. About their Chinese or Thai cuisine, the food is good, but I won't change my go-to restaurant for this one :) In terms of service, they need more staff. I noticed that they had only2 waiters for the entire place & all the tables were in use. Also the hostess is not very helpful, she didn't even greet me ormy family, even after we said Hi or even when we said Bye, she was like a statue :P Read more

We had take out and it was hands down the best Asian food I've ever had, everything was delicious. Its so much better then the... standard take out joint. These guys know flavors. I can't wait to go back and try it fresh. Land and Sea and a Coconut ChickenDinner. Do yourself a favor and get some !! Read more

Had it not been for the pandemic and working from home, I would have definitely missed out on this local gem. Now we order from... here a few times a month. The sushi is fresh and rolled tight. I hate sushi that falls apart. They have really good warmappetizers as well. I'm not in love with their hot entrees, not because they taste bad but because they don't taste like theterrible Asian fusion food I'm used to eating. Their entrees very clean tasting, not overly salty, sweet, greasy, or overcooked. They also allow some adjustments within reason like make it extra spicy, put the sauce on the side, don't add x,y,z. Theyhaven't resumed to indoor seating but the customer service is excellent. On a really busy night, you might have to wait an extra5-10 minutes for pickup, but they always apologize even though it's not necessary. The prices are what you'd expect to pay forgood sushi. I just called there to place a ?to go pick up order?. The girl on the phone was SO RUDE AND NASTY!!! She even HUNG UP ON ME!!!!... I am shocked and very upset!!! I hope the owner of the restaurant sees this review and has a nice little talk with the VERY RUDEstaff member! It is 8/20/21 at 6:13 pm and I called literally 2 minutes ago. If an employee has a problem they shouldn't taketheir anger out on the customers and be nasty!!! I have been in the hotel/restaurant industry for 40 years. Also, the quality ofthe food is not what it used to be. We were very good customers; ordering on a weekly basis. This is the first time we haveordered from them in 2 months and this is the treatment we get? Never again will we go there or order. Read more

Whoa. Call me Guy Fieri because I just went to Flavortown. I tried Avenue East for the first time this evening and it totally... blew me out of the water. We ordered two spicy tuna rolls ($5.50), an eel avocado roll ($5.50), a shrimp tempura roll ($5.50), achicken teriyaki entree ($13.95), pan fried chicken dumplings ($5.95), the buddha's feast entree ($9.50), and the house lo mein($9.95). Pretty much all of it was excellent and I have no complaints. I have to start by singing the praises of the sushi.Seriously, it was spectacular and on par with any best sushi joints I've been to. There was a generous amount of fish and eel ineach piece, and the rolls practically melt in your mouth. Totally worth it! The dumplings were awesome, too, and even thoughthere was a sauce on the side, it wasn't even necessary as the dumplings were replete with flavor. I'd order them again in aheartbeat. I was also pleasantly surprised by the lo mein. It had beef, chicken, shrimp... and all in abundance. Big, plumppieces of shrimp scattered among shreds of flavorful beef... I'm still thinking about it! Solid choice -- you can't gowrong. Lastly, while I didn't eat in the restaurant so I can't speak to kitchen speeds or anything like that, I did meet Steve, the owner, and he was very polite and friendly. Really a nice guy! I don't know what other people leaving negative reviews aretalking about but I can't wait to get Avenue East again. Read more
