We have stayed in 5 star hotels that costs $500 a night and they did not compare to this place. The putnam lodge is by far the... best place we have ever stayed. We were just a walk in at 9:30 at night soon as we walked in we were greeted we asked for a roomand proceeded to check in. I asked about the restaurant she said they closed at 9 but we could get a bite to eat as they wouldbe more then happy to take care of us everyone was so nice and friendly we asked what would be easy for them to prepare sincethey were now closed and they said anything you want in the menu is fine. The filet mignon bites were amazing. We then proceededto our room but we got a tour of the hotel and told about the history of the lodge which made the experience even better. We hada wonderful nights sleep a good breakfast which is different depending on what's there. For us it was great. The cats, chickensand peacocks as well as the other birds were really cool and let's not forget junior the dog running around. To sum it up ifyour looking for a new updated boring hotel this is not the place for you but if your looking for a beautiful old historic placewith some cool history and secret room and a place where Al Capone stayed then this is the place for you. I'm not sure but I'dsay there's a good chance it's haunted to lol. Read more

I?ve been to the restaurant several times in the past. This restaurant is the best I?ve been to in several years. I had a five... course meal that was as good if not the best I?ve ever had! Even the coffee was outstanding! Can?t wait to return after I losethese pounds. Read more
