We were driving through town on the hunt for a BBQ joint and stumbled upon the Crystal River Smokehouse. Took a quick look at... other Google Review stars and comments and decided to stop. Super conveniently located right off the main road, just on theoutskirts of the main streets in town. The Smokehouse was super welcoming, we could smell the smoke as soon as we opened thecar door. We parked easily and entered a super cute, clean and simply decorated foyer. We were immediately greeted andseated at our choice of the 4 top tables. The kids received cute fall kids menus and new crayons so they were busy while wewatched the latest news on the Hurricane that just passed through in the South on the big screen TV. The staff was pleasant andattentive. Our eyes were very big, the menu had the old standbys, a lunch menu and some fun additions that make the Smokehouseunique. Quesadillas with any meat, zucchini straws, giant sweet potato fries and dishes with waffles. I wish I took a snap ofthe menu buy I did not! I hit up the bathroom and this is when I noted this is actually a new place. Everything was new andclean, new wood siding, tile still shiny, toilet all clean bit needing a new seat as it takes you for a ride. When I returnedto the table we were served complimentary house made Pork Rinds, so good! Immediately following were the Zucchini straws andSweet Potato fries which were technically wedges. Zucchini was amazingly thin, crunchy and delicious, the wedges were good butI do wish they were crispier and seasoned. I looked around as we waited for our meal and scared down the appetizers. The placereally is new, cute, simple and clean for a BBQ joint, it really appealed to me without losing the homeyness you expect. Ourfood arrived and everything was amazing looking and just huge! We love this place! We brag to all our friends how great it is & take all of our out of town guest here. We have our favorites,... brisket, ribs, turkey (especially the smoked turkey dip) but tonight topped them all. We had the Smoked Prime Rib. It wasphenomenal!! This place is the real deal. First time eating here. Definitely the best BBQ in Citrus County. My husband had the platter of smoked sliced pork loin, ribs... and turkey with the green beans with bacon. I had the Brisket & Turkey with the Collared Greens cooked with turkey. Both withfries. We couldn't fault anything. Everything was delicious. Highly Recommend and We will be back for the Prime Rib. 10/10 forfood, quality, service and the relaxing, friendly atmosphere. Read more
Went there with friends last week for Lunch. Service was excellent and overall the food was very good. Everyone loved there... sides and the pork was very most and everyone liked It. Unfortunate the brisket was very dry and was disappointing. Wouldrecommend the other meats though Read more

Great great menu, prices, flavor and service ! Complimentary pork rinds made in house too. First time here.. husband had this... crazy creative Belgian waffle with pulled pork and I had the 2 meat combo with brisket and pork. The greens and Mac and cheeseare definitely made in house.
