Some of the best fried chicken and great service as well! Our server Nisha was attentive, made sure our drinks were promptly... refilled, and checked on us after each course. LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING. So while I got a good photo of the food please don't let this fool you. The chicken wasn't alright. It... was fried a little too hard and not seasoned enough. The mac n cheese tasted like it was made with cheese whiz or something. Itdefinitely wasnt a favorite. I will say the potato salad and okra were good but that's just not enough for me to visit again. Finger lickin delicious chicken! I've had worse things than the sweet potato pie too. It's difficult to rate a fried chicken... joint because I don't think I've ever had any that I didn't like. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a chicken sl*t. That said,Gus's is a no frills chicken joint in the heart of Deep Ellum. It's relatively inexpensive and good.
