Update: made an order for pickup and asked for spicy powder and spicy sauce on the side when i arrived. It's usually given to me... in a small sauce container when I dine in, here or at any ethiopian restaurant. They're charging $2 per spice now. For a tinysauce container. I've put up with the poor customer service in the past for the food, but I won't be coming backnow. ________________________________________ I love ethiopian food, and the food here is great but service is painfully bad.The waitress is extremely slow and disorganized. Took 15 minutes to bring out my drinks; even then I had to go up to the counterto grab it myself along with additional plates as requested because she disappeared once again before bringing anythingover. There were 3 tables in the entire restaurant, three. On a separate dining experience here we were the only ones and shewas behind the bar sitting the entire time, we had to wave her down on many occasions. Not acceptable. I'm in the serviceindustry and always leave over 20%......but I just can't do that here. I really hope they get their customer service together asthe food really is good, but I think ill just go to queen of Sheeba from now on. Read more
Ordered togo of doro wot, doro Tibis, yebeg tibis, vegetable combination. The vegetable combination is awesome and doro wot is... good like a gravy, doro tibis and yebeg tibis are little like dry items. All of them taste good. The quantity of food served isgood. Specially the tiff, there are extra tiffs served. Hard to complete the full dish as its filling and heavy. Definitelyworth a try. Read more
This was first time dining at Shebelle. Most importantly ever experiencing Ethiopian Cuisine. They made such an impression on me... that I will most definitely return. It was not too crowded, they gave instructions for first timers on how to eat Ethiopia food,the staff was very knowledgeable, answered all of questions and gave fast and friendly service with a smile. Ambience was nice, very tidy and clean place. I was trying Ethiopian food for the first time and i loved it here. Service was... also good , server was attentive and sweet. I loved the food , only 1 reason to not giving 5 stars is the price. I got combospecial costing around 25 plus tax, but meat ratio provided was really less, i mean only 1 piece of chicken?
