We had a Christmas party scheduled here for our company. After planning the evening, hiring caterers, and setting the date, the... big night was finally here. My coworkers (60+ people) and I were so excited to take a well deserved night off and enjoy somemuch needed libations. We all started arriving at the venue only to find our caterer standing in the parking lot. We asked themif we were in the right place. They ensured us that we were, however the owner of the establishment was refusing to open hisdoor and had actually decided he 'didn't feel like hosting the party that day.' Us being hard working people, could understandthe obligation of work, but this event was already scheduled and paid in FULL. You would think anyone who knows anything aboutbusiness would know their role and how other people are depending on them. At that point, with no notice, "I had a bad day, anddidn't feel like giving these people what they paid for" just won't cut it. Now, the owner will not answer his door of the venueor his phone calls while me and my coworkers are standing in the parking lot with the caterers. After an hour of us standingthere not knowing what was going on, and after all the employees showed up(some drove 40 miles), we were forced to cancel ourparty and return home with nothing. It was a huge let down and such a shame that someone can treat a group of people like thisafter taking their money. We visited Boutier Winery this weekend for a quick anniversary getaway. Victor was an amazing host. The house was beautiful and... most of all very clean and well maintained. We stayed in the Champagne Suite. It has a modern Victorian flair. Victor made usFrench cream eggs over toast yum!! We traveled a couple hours and arrived as the winery was closing,Victor was so nice to openthe next day just to accommodate us even though he would normally be closed on a Monday. (So we got a private wine tasting). Thewines are amazing. The grounds are so private. It was a great screen for a picnic. What a gem. This will definitely be our newweekend getaway place. Read more
