This is by far one of my favorite places to travel to eat in Alabama. We drive up here at least three times a year just to have... a wonderful lunch. Normally I?m not a fan of buffets, but the Old Cookstove is an exception. It is clean. It is some of the bestfood in Alabama. Read more

A quaint little off the main track country buffet featuring home style, absolutely delicious eats. The place is REALLY clean... and the staff is helpful and friendly. I sampled ham, country steak (with white gravy) various casseroles, veggies and severaldeserts. Everything (with the exception of chicken livers which were dried out) was delicious. I love the atmosphere, the people, the food and the wonderful things for sale at the restaurant. The food was so delicious plus... all of the ladies working hard in the kitchen were constantly filling the buffet when the food was low or almost empty. Makesure to try their homemade breads with jams. Oh and make sure you leave some room for the delicious creamy homemade vanilla icecream, pudding truufle, cakes, chocolate dump cake, apple crisp and fruit cobblers!!!
