My 1st time at Floyd's. We live in Richmond Virginia area and my wife had been there once before (2yrs ago). She recommended the... crab cakes. Great choice. Big, meaty and seasoned just right for me. I usually avoid crab cakes out because mine are better. Not in this case. Very pleasant atmosphere (4 - 5 p.m.). Staff is on top of the day. This place has the best crabs around. That being said, they have no regards for reservations. We were celebrating a birthday and... we were going to get a table of All You Can Eat Crabs. I called in at open to make reservations, I was asked how many peoplewere going get AYCE. I told them 5 of our 8 were getting it. We show up for our reservation and are told that they only have 1AYCE meal left. Then they charge you 2x the cost of AYCE for a dozen crabs, which feeds one person.... Read more

Floyd's is one of our favorite restaurants, especially for crab cakes. The food is always delicious and the service always good.... We don't get out that way too often so it's a destination place for us. Every meal I've eaten at Floyd's has been wonderful. Read more

Very disappointing birthday dinner. The crab dip came out luke warm and had very little taste. The stuffed shrimp were the worst... I?ve ever had. It was not lump crab meat that they were stuffed with. It was imitation meat that had so much oil in it, it wasalmost a liquid. Extremely disappointing. The worst part of this experience was the management. After telling the waitress ourconcerns, she relayed the concerns to the manager who never even came out to talk to us. On our way out we asked for the managerwho said, ?he was too busy to talk.? There was 2 people at the bar and hardly anyone in the restaurant. He then stated, ?we havereally good reviews so I don?t know what the problem is.? Not once would he even acknowledge our concerns. The whole time ourwaitress was apologizing to us over and over like she was embarrassed by the managers behavior. We frequent seafood restaurantsand love to support local ones but this place is not it. They have a serious management problem. Read more
