Was passing through Dayton and needed a bite to eat. I'm about an hour away from this area. Looking for a place that was still... open around 10 and we found Mudlick Tap House. We had a nice peaceful dinner in the outdoor seating area. Food was excellent.A bowl of chili and a Bavarian pretzel with beer cheese for appetizers, which were both very good. Fried chicken sandwich witha few extra toppings and beef brisket sandwich for the entree's. Both were also very good. The decor is pretty cool with aprohibition type feel. Brian H. Some kind of winged ant was so bad on the patio, other patrons had to retreat inside. We stuck it out, but came away feeling... like we had bugs crawling all over us. Food was only average and over priced, but the Beer was pretty good, although there was alack of stout on tap. Plenty of seltzer, ciders and IPAs, if you like those. Went to Mudlick’s this past weekend, mostly for the pretzel and cheese appetizer?. The beer cheese sauce wasn’t the... greatest, in fact every dipping sauce we had was horrible (ranch, blue cheese, beer cheese. The food was overpriced, but it islocated downtown so we really paid for location. Dessert wasn’t the best, but customer service was ok. We sent quite a fewthings back. Taft's UDF Milkshake IPA and their... cocktail of the month Deathly Hollows (tequila, ginger beer, maple syrup, cranberry, lemon, cointreau and other deliciousness).The food too - best cauliflower buffalo wings that were cooked perfectly - to be fork tender yet still have snap when you bite,sorry they were too good and missed the photo op.Balsamic fig burger, it might sound strange but easily in the top three burgersI've ever had, at any restaurant, an incredible balance of sweet savory and salty. The only "disappointment" were the mussels,not from execution but instead, some simply tasted off, the shells were open so that wasn't the issue. However thebartender/server took notice of our reticence. Inquired on them, then immediately took them back and removed from our bill.Thanking us for the feedback and asking if there was anything else we would like in their place. No sideways glances, excusesabout suppliers or staffing or otherwise. Instead recognizing a concern, taking it at face value, then making it right. That isthe perfect example of proper service.
