Definitely not any of us expected. Most of us ordered the sloppy joe because the menu says you have to try it once. We did and... that will be the last time. It tasted like chili from a can. The fish and the shrimp were okay but definitely not the best we?vehad. The view off the deck was the best thing we had. Read more
What an experience!! We were in Daytona for a few days and decided to eat at Sloppy Joe?s for my mom?s birthday dinner. We ended... up having the best experience thanks to Lamar, the assistant GM. He was wonderful! Right away they wished my mom a happybirthday and brought us something special. The food was delicious and service was great. I highly recommend the luau salad andthe delicious chocolate brownie dessert. The best part of our experience was actually an accident turned positive. My sondropped his cell phone between the booth seat and the wall. It was almost impossible to get it out. Assistant GM Lamar spent agood 45 minutes or so trying different things to get that cell phone for my son. In the pictures you can see Lamar in action, as well as a picture with my son next to him showing the phone and tongs (bent from using them to get the cell phone out). Sincewe were there until 9 or 9:30, the restaurant was not as busy, so he had time to chat with us for awhile. He and my daughtereven had a little competition going. Well, we have visited Sloppy Joe's several times in Key West and love it! We were excited to try the Daytona location. Sadly,... we were a little disappointed. We started out with the Sloppy Joe Nacho's. They were okay. Seemed as if they neededsomething. The fried fish tacos weren't as good as we expected. The Caesar salad was typical. Nothing really stood out as beinggreat. Lastly, we got the famous Sloppy Joe sandwich. It was probably the best thing we had. Overall, we think we will save ourcraving for Sloppy Joes for our next trip to the Keys.Location was a nice view of the ocean. Read more
