Coming off an amazing experience at a Ruth's Chris in Denver my bf and I were really excited to go again. We were looking... forward to the cocktails. I had the Reyes Rita and my bf had the Gamblers Old Fashion. The Reyes Rita is supposed to have aTajin rim, but was brought to our table with a salt rim. Our server apologized and took it back to the bartender who decided tonot fully rim the glass. It was also much heavier on the jalapeno than the Denver location. Overall the drink was not worthy of$17. I switched to wine after that. My bf's old fashioned came out on the rocks instead of a block of ice. When we asked if theyhad block ice available the manager said they only have a few molds and had run out...they open at 4 and we had drinks served tous by 6.... I was really disheartened by this point. My bf switched to a bourbon neat. Onto the food. I ordered the petit filetmedium plus per the servers suggestion based on my preference. It came out well done. My bf ordered the cowboy ribeye - medium,it too came out overcooked. When it came to dessert I couldn't take anymore disappointment so we opted to skip it. Our servercould tell we weren't happy so she said she would talk to the manager. He came over and apologized and said they took $25 offthe bill. Which is fine, we weren't looking for a discount. We would have preferred to spend $25 more dollars and have a greatexperience. The real kicker to the night after spending over $200 was when we were walking out to leave, we passed the managerand he refused to make eye contact or say anything to us. Never again Del Mar. Excellent steaks! Got the 6oz steak and shrimp combo. Update: Got the 8oz filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and creamed... spinach. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and very tender. The mashed potatoes were smooth, creamy and very tasty. The creamed spinach had the perfect consistency and was delicious. The mixed greens Steak House salad was very fresh with theperfect amount of dressing. The chocolate sin cake was creamy, not too sweet, just amazing. The wait staff is very attentive andfriendly. An excellent experience. Update: Got the 6oz steak and shrimp combo, with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and breadpudding for dessert. Everything was excellent. Read more
