Mama Africa's Cafe has incredibly flavorful and rich food. I went for a birthday celebration and our group of 5 ordered the Mama... Africa's special. We all walked away so stuffed! I little surprised at how many 5 star ratings there were. The place is good, but not extraordinary. Ethiopian is my favorite... food of all time. And I've been to a good handful of places. Usually Ethiopian food is super flavorful - sometimes with a littlespice sometimes with a lot. We got the veggie platter and I found it to be a little bland. So I was a bit disappointed. And theveggie plate didn't come with collard greens or lentils - bummer. The lamb tibs were excellent. Spicy, but perfect for me. Iordered another meal to go (can't remember the name) and it was a bit too spicy for my wife. Service was good and the food cameout rather timely, compared to other Ethiopian restaurants I have been to. There is also a nice selection of coffee's, latte's,espressos, etc. The ambiance and restaurant is quaint and appealing. But the bathroom could use a little work. In conclusion,if this place is nearby, it's a great stop in joint. Otherwise, if you're looking for the absolute best Ethiopian in town,perhaps consider going elsewhere. The lamb tibs and vegetable samosa were absolutely delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. The chai latte was excellent... as well. My waiter checked if I had eaten Ethiopian food before, as a lot of Americans aren't used to how it's served. The chefcame out to check on me after a few minutes and see if I was enjoying everything. The spices and sauces are incredible. Ihaven't had Ethiopian food in years and I'm so happy I stopped by for some after my haircut! Read more
