Fish was fried hard. Very small place with too many people. Band was good. No parking spaces. Had to walk to the building.

Finally I tried Randall's recommended by many as a place for soul food and New Orleans food. I ordered gumbo, and a shrimp,... wings, and chicken combo. I was not impressed with the fried items, bland and over fried. The gumbo had a good taste, but themeat ingredients seemed like they were added as an afterthought, but not cooked together in the main soup. The batter on theshrimp was nearly nonexistent. It seemed like frozen cooked shrimp were thawed, battered then fried. Now I have diarrhea. Ithink it's from the gumbo. I've eaten nowhere else today but at Randall's. The food was a bit pricy too. I was raised eatingNew Orleans food. This was not New Orleans gumbo like my mother used to prepare. Read more
