If you're a meat and potatoes kind of person and want to hang out with other people who pay top dollar for sort of bland food,... then this may be the place for you. We were sad to see Scotch and Vine close and they left high expectations for anyone tofollow. We were thrilled to see another restaurant open and enthusiastically took our out of town family to try it out.Unfortunately, with Madi's, the prices went up and the food quality went down, leaving much to be desired. We only visited once, and it was about a month after they opened, so perhaps they've improved.... maybe things have or will radically change for thebetter and I'll get to revise this crappy review. Until then, if you want a ribeye, 909 is way better. Read more

Madi's Steakhouse Part 1 - Breakfast I really wanted to like this restaurant and I hated giving them a two star review. The... staff were quite friendly and attentive but there were enough issues that I couldn't justify even three stars (what I wouldconsider average). First of all, the menu: Their approach seems to be "build your own breakfast". Their breakfast menuconsists of the barest essentials: eggs, pancakes, waffles, French toast with a couple of breakfast entrees like Eggs Benedict, and steak & eggs (they are a steakhouse after all) and then "build your own" omelets and hash browns. I guess my biggestdisappointment here is that I had hoped for more. All of my favorite places for breakfast offer some tasty or interestingoptions that make dining and even reading the menu fun. Perhaps some people will go here knowing exactly what they want but Iwould much rather read down a list of breakfast entrees and think "that sounds really good" than try to come up with a mix ofingredients that is appealing on my own. In general the more I find myself thinking "that sounds really good", the better therestaurant. Second, the meal: The omelet I ?built? was tasty enough and properly cooked. However the blueberry pancakes leftmuch to be desired. They were literally two pancakes with a pile of frozen, partially thawed blueberries piled on the side(aren?t the blueberries supposed to be cooked into the pancakes?) Also, my English muffin arrived warm (but not toasted) andunbuttered. It also looked like someone had split it by hand, badly squishing it in the process. Third, the atmosphere: Theinterior seemed stark with little decoration. I also didn?t care for much of the artwork that was there, though I realize thismight be a matter of personal taste. Overall, I did not find the space terribly inviting. They could definitely stand to addmore/better art and some kitsch. One idea might be to let local artists display their work there. I really don?t wan Read more

I ate a Madi?s for happy hour on a Friday night. My girlfriend and I each had the four course special. The food was well... executed. I particularly enjoyed the mashed potatoes and the complimentary homemade chips were a pleasant surprise. The servicewas excellent. Our server was friendly and attentive, we never felt rushed or that we were waiting long for our next course. I?mlooking forward to going back for brunch. Read more
