We stopped here for supper one evening after visiting Theodore Roosevelt NP. It?s a family style restaurant staffed mostly by a... family. Nothing fancy but it?s clean and the staff are welcoming and friendly. My wife and I both had a chicken dinner and a cupof soup. The chicken was very good. It was juicy and tender with a not too greasy skin. I had the borscht and my wife had adumpling soup called knoephla. Both soups were amazing. They use at least two different types of beets in their borscht. No ideaif it?s caused from a different curing time for the beets but the color of the two aren?t the same. I've looked everywhere in town for a good home cooked meal and atmosphere...I should have looked here first! Not only is it the... best fried chicken, freshly made sides, and home made ranch that may be the best ive ever tasted but Jack personally takes myorder and assures the quality of my order. After telling me some great stories he personally asked the kitchen to throw in someextras for me to try which were delicious. Read my other reviews.... I really liked this place. The atmosphere is country, but comforting. The staff was rather friendly and the food came out rather... quickly although we came in after the noon rush. Thy handled the cleanup and serving very well, although there were only twoservers on at the time. The food was very good, nothing extravagant, just basic and well made. Read more
For a family of 4 the price of lunch + Dessert came to over 100$ dollars!!!. $6.50 for 1 slice of pie with a scoop of ice... cream? Ill be honest, the borscht and knoephla are excellent, and the pies are delicious. However I am very disappointed inthe price. It's much cheaper to eat other restaurants. Read more

The food is great--especially the chicken and every different kind of homemade soup. The atmosphere can bedescribed simply as that of a quiet hometown restaurant. I've never had anything but attentive, friendly service from the waitstaff. Highly recommend Jack's for a relaxed, nostalgic dining experience. Read more
