First-timers and we really enjoyed it! We were waking from the hotel to a different restaurant and saw Pug Ryan?s on the way.... Super cool looking place, and not gonna lie - it was an absolutely gorgeous, sunny fall afternoon and they had plenty of outdoorseating with umbrellas! Happy hour was a bonus! Enjoyed the green chilie artichoke dip - was served warm, I appreciated therewere carrots and celery along with the tortilla chips! No one does that! Fish in the fish-n-chips dish was surprisingly GOOD! Not your typical frozen fish-stick bar food, this fish was top quality with a nice thin batter. Fries are the darker, not crispytype - not my personal fave, coleslaw was good. Our outdoor experience was great and server was great too. Which I rememberedher name!! It was unique. We will be back! This was my order. It was extremely hard and cold. It was even delivered within 30 minutes of ordering. It looks like someone?s... left overs were put in a box and saved for a to go order. Half of the fries are inedible. And if I wasn?t hungry and had limitedfood options working at night in the hospital I would have thrown it out. Ketchup didn?t even fix the issue. Read more
Pug Ryan?s has a better beer variety than some of the typical, go-to styles of other places with a broad selection of drafts on... tap. Their food is also pretty decent but be careful what you pick, like the blistered shishito peppers appetizer which was notwhat I imagined or described (still good but unexpected), and the green chili which was just as hot as described but not goodotherwise with a lackluster flavor and old pork. From all this though, what really put a damper on the meal was the service whenwe stopped in on a late afternoon with some out-of-state friends, just 7 of us total?we just felt unwelcomed, like it was alocals only type of place. I was able to try one of the beers, which was good but was never asked or got a chance for another.At least the group was happy with their food, including the cheese sticks, queso dip & chips, and cheeseburgers.
