Internet has sucked the life blood out of this former fabulous store for all to visit. Once a pleasure to spend hours reviewing... books and periodicals to purchase. The cafe has always been full of ppl, good coffee and pastries, and still is. To survive,store has been forced to turn to merchandising - toys, dolls, games, visual entertainment items, etc. Maybe ½ the store. Choice of books - not so much. Except for children and teenagers. Probably still a great place to inspire children to thewondrous things to be found in books. And still offers extensive mags. I found one highly specialized, irrelevant referencebook for a field of study I had expected to find at least 1-2 shelves filled with selections. [sigh] Far fewer employees toassist, too. Read more
My favorite book store. I know I can find whatever book I am interested in. If I can't, there is always a nice person to help me... find it. You can get a nice coffee or treat at Starbucks. Read more
Probably haven't been to a brick and mortar bookstore since I got my purse Kindle. To be completely honest, I didn't realize... just how much I had missed going into the bookstores until now. As always, Barnes& Noble is clean and everything is neatlyorganized and easy to find. I will be going back to find books for gifts. Read more
