Stopped for lunch. The lunch meal is a very small portion. They only gave me a half cup of rice. Never seen a Chinese place give... such little rice. Cheap!. The rice is suppose to be the filler. I got a egg roll which was very small and low quality. The menuprices weren't updated, so I was charged more than menu list price. Place is very out dated with yellowed ceilings tiles, darkand gloomy. This place is good for Dubuque people I suppose. I won't be back. Read more
Had the family dinner for 3 meal. Came with 2 wonton and a egg rolls per person. Got the mandarin meal, which came with 3... courses and rice. As well as egg drop soup. Got a side order of hot and sour soup. Both were phenomenal!!!! Are waitress wasfriendly and attentive. Overall experience for price and food made this a 10/10! Read more
My husband and I enjoy House of China very much. The food Is always great-as is the service. As for the ridiculous review one... consumer left I think you must have been tweaking, or maybe trying to get a free meal. They have never served anything salty. I would recommend House of China to anyone. Read more
I try to like this place, but something just seems off. The drinks are good, the staff is wonderful and friendly. But the food... is just "eh." It's an Iowa version of Chinese. Other guests during my visit seemed to enjoy what they ordered. I dunno, perhapsI'm spoiled growing up in Chicago having access to real Chinese food in Chinatown. Read more

I don't tend to write bad reviews but I can't fina anything good to say. Staff was barely attentive, waitress said she was... leaving while we were eating and brought boxes and the check.
