My friend and I had a lovely experience and meal at The Doyle. They are doing some construction to be completed by Thanksgiving.... The companionable closeness was delightful with our waitress and the owner's attentions. My friend started with a specialtycocktail prepared to perfection. She had a burger on a pretzel roll with delicious fries. (Yes, she shared some with me LOL) Ihad a club sandwich which was a weekly special and some lovely, crisp asparagus. Stopped in for lunch after a couple days on the trail. We were interested in the history of the place, so Donald pulled out the... binder of pictures. Cool stuff! He also told us about the renovations done since January. I can't speak to the rooms, but thefood was really good and the new bar is beautiful. Read more
Did the trick... Older hotel with lots of history. Rooms were quint but after hiking and sleeping on the ground; the beds were... very comfortable. Food in the bar downstairs was great! Had the "World Famous Doyle Dog"... Fried hotdog with all thetrimmings and fries! Read more
Last night was the first time I've been to the Doyle. I was more or less an employee for the night, as I was hired to perform... music for the patrons. The owner, Don Failor, promptly introduced himself to me and made me feel very welcome to be there. SinceI was performing, all I had to eat was a burger and fries. You don't want to overdo it when you have to sing for three hours!But the burger and fries were very good, and came out very fast! The staff was super friendly to everyone, the atmosphere wasamazing, and the clientele was very high spirited and friendly. As I was performing I saw (and smelled) all of the differententrees being served, and they looked and smelled unbelievable! The customers confirmed what I thought of the food. I know thisreview is a pretty long book, but i just can't say enough about how perfect of a little place this is! Beautifully done, verycharming old historic building, and all of the hospitality you could ask for. And the staff are management are genuine, and I'lldefinitely be back, not only as an entertainer, but as a customer. Do yourself a favor and go check them out!!!! Read more
