We went to Streets of St. Charles to go to the AMC Movie theater to finally Top Gun Maverick. We decided to have happy hour at ... Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. We didn’t have drinks this trip, but did eat several of the happy hour specials. The sliders andthe cauliflower were great. The other things we ordered were good, but not great. My husband and I dined here for our 21st anniversary. The food was amazing! Lobster spinach queso dip, yum! Prime rib and loaded... baked potato, huge and perfectly cooked! Aged ribeye with grilled shrimp and fresh vegetables, so tasty! Brownie with vanillabean ice cream, dark chocolate sauce, and a side of warm salted caramel, heavenly! Overall, this was a lovely dinner. We ordered sangria and 2 beers on draught. The sangria was ok, but not exceptional for the... price. The striped bass was excellent. The fresh tuna green salad was delicious also. The steak we ordered was fine, but wehad hoped it would be of a better standard considering they are a steakhouse. The dessert was sweet and delightful. The service was absolutely amazing. This was our first time here and our server was Susan. I will have to say she is hands down... the best server I have ever had anywhere! She was very polite and attentive along with she was quick. She kept our drinksrefilled and table bussed!! The food was cooked just how we ordered it and was out very quickly! The quality of dining out is diminishing. If cobwebs and diner quality food at inflated prices is your idea of an exemplary... dining experience then you're at the right place. The hostess asked if we had reservations and then pretended to have to seek out a table even though half of the dining area was empty. My party was seated next to the restroom area. GROSS. Weeks ahead oftime for Halloween, there were cobwebs along the wall "decorating" our booth. The lobster fondue was a gelatinous muck (photosenclosed) of processed cheese and stale chips. The wood grilled salmon was flavorless. The bread must've been chiseled fromthe limestone structure of the building. The broccoli , however, was quite delicious. If you have children and they decide toorder the brownie dessert you'll have an awesome time playing Where's Waldo with the two teaspoons of ice cream they'llget. The waitress was very sweet. No need to take the public school cafeteria styled food out on her. After leaving her witha handsome tip we left with our lesson learned and no intention of returning. Read more
