First time checking them out. Friend from work treated me. Had fish sandwich and it was very fresh. Not seasoned just lightly... fried in batter. As advertised and good. Friend got clam chowder which she often gets but this time briny and few clams. We hadlunch to go on a Thursday and it was busy but quick. Read more
Been Enjoying Mickeys Since the 70's when they had foot long hot dogs, Fries and a Soda for .76 cents They also had 5 cent hot... dogs. We used to go after playing basketball. The foot long dogs are gone but when i am in east hartford i make it a point tostop in I can say one thing to describe Mickeys: in 48 years i never had a meal i did not enjoy. I ordered 2 lobster rolls, a quart of clam chowder and lobster Mac and cheese. Lobster rolls weren't bad. Wasn't impressed by... the portions but the flavor was good. The lobster mac and cheese had too much going on. I was happy there was actually lobsterin it though. The clam chowder was definitely the worst I had in my life. After a taste of it, I returned it right back to them.Very watery and for some reason it tasted very earthy. Not sure if they washed the potatoes or not. I'm not exactly sure why ittasted the way it did. They use very little clams and like I said, it was very watery. If there was such thing as a diet clamchowder, that would be it. Far from rich and creamy. That was my first and last time going there. Too many restaurants out therethat do it right for me to waste my time and money on this place. Had the blackened swordfish sandwich with key lime sauce and a shrimp po-boy. Both served up hot and delicious. Split aside of fries.
