The 11 year old and I decided we'd try the kabob place in a small mall by Fresh Thyme, Harrison and Trowbridge. Really had no... expectations, but it was fantastic. Got a combo platter - chicken lamb, beef -with two rice dishes and a mild pasta salad. Allitems were cooked to perfection, the service friendly and helpful! Absolutely recommend. Read more
THEY OPENED AT THE START OF COVID AND ARE STILL OPERATING IF THAT IS NOT A TESTAMENT TO THE QUALITY THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO... SAY EXCEPT SHUSH CAUSE YOU'RE WRONG. I never would have guessed I would have such a love of Iraqi foods. This is by far myfavorite hidden gem I've found in Lansing to date. You order like you're at a subway except the food is actually good and thefamily (and their family friends) that own and run this location are the hardest working, nicest, and most humble people I'vemet in literal decades. The food, which is prepared in house, is phenomenal to say the least. I cannot think of a better placeto spend an afternoon stuffing my face while also doing what I can to support a local business owner(s). Y'all. I've order twice from Sparty's and I was delighted both times. For the first time I ordered through uber eats and had the Iraqi... salad, hummus, and tandoori chicken with rice. It was delicious and the salad was very refreshing. I also had the cheesecake,which was so good that I went back and ordered it the second time. The second time I came it was dine-in, and I appreciated thebooths as they offered some seclusion while I ate (they also offer tables outside). For my second order I kept the tandoorichicken and ordered the eggplant salad, baba ganoush, and of course the cheesecake. The Iraqi tea paired well. I would also liketo highlight the tandoori chicken, because it was so wonderfully tender and perfectly seasoned. I would definitely recommendthis place to anyone. Read more
