Classic Portuguese bakery! The baked good and papo seco (Portuguese rolls) never disappoint! Cute and clean inside with a few... bistro style tables to enjoy some coffee or perhaps a sandwich. Always worth the stop. Read more
I don?t usually leave reviews, but reviews are the first thing I look at as a customer. I had my wedding in April and purchased... a cake from them. I purchased a simple white 2 tier cake for my wedding. Vanilla and chocolate with strawberry filling. Nodecorations, no fondant, nothing crazy. I decided on this bakery because it was the cheapest around and like I said I justneeded a simple cake. Well, the entire thing caved in on itself. A friend of mine noticed the top tier was super wobbly whileshe was driving so she took extra care of every stop and turn. Didn?t matter because the cake was way too soft to support asecond tier and it crumbled before it got to my venue. The pastry chef at the venue was able to save the top tier but the bottomwas useless. We used the top tier for cake cutting, and it did taste good, but the rest of it crumbled on the way home after thewedding so we couldn?t even keep it for our anniversary. Its been 4 months since this happened and I never even called thebakery because It was the most stressful part of my wedding day and I just wanted to forget the whole thing but I think it?simportant for people to know, especially if they?re looking for something as important as a wedding cake. I was nervous that the pastries would be expensive and too sweet, as they usually are in the country, and my only previous... experience with Portuguese custard tarts (from Trader Joe?s) had not gone well. So I was pleasantly surprised by everything Iordered! I?m not familiar with the terms and the display case didn?t have labels, but I think I got a mini cannoli, cinnamoncustard tart, a bag of a dozen sweet rolls and a little chickpea cake (not sure what it?s called) and it all came to only around$8!!! I knew nothing about Portuguese baked goods but the staff was really sweet and helped me decide what to get. Now I?mregretting not buying more pastries. Amazing!!! So accommodating, I called and placed an order for 3 dozen cupcakes 3 different flavors. I also only gave them 5 days... notice. I picked them up they looked fantastic and tasted amazing. They were decorated with soccer ball rings and all the kidsabsolutely loved them. If I lived closer I would stop here all the time! Read more
