Tucked away in the back of a plaza, Greek Taverna is a very solid restaurant and is consistent in their food prep/taste. When I... am in the area and had a good afternoon workout and need some protein and a hearty meal to feed the muscles, I have made it apoint to eat here and have done so multiple times. I can vouch for all the souvalikis in all meat offerings, gyro platter,bifteki, mango salad, and lemon potatoes. Found the place is consistently clean and spacious indoors and they do offer outdoorseating. I prefer going during the week when it things are a little more calmer. Weekend is fine. I have found sitting outsidecan be annoying at times because of the neighboring ice cream shop attracts illegally parked customers leaving their carsrunning next to your table. I liked this place and I recommend it. They have many dishes and options; also the menu works perfectly for those who don't eat... meat. But let me tell you about the best part of our experience at Greek Taverna: the flavor was amazing! Tasty, delicious,and well-prepared. One of the more valuable thing here was the good service, the waitress who attended our table was quitenice, even when she and another guy were the only people attending all tables. My fiance and I stopped at this beautiful Greek restaurant after our spa date at Sojo Spa. We never ate Greek food before so we... were excited. Our server was Vasilli, he was also Greek which made this whole experience more exciting for us. He was veryfriendly, helpful and provided us with great service. He recommend us to try the Greek taverna chips which were, crispy friedzucchini and eggplant chips with skordalia dip. Let me just say, it was very addicting eating this. My fiance loved the chickensouvlaki entree, the special sauce they use was delicious. I ordered the pastitsio entree, which was Greek baked macaroni withground beef. This Greek restaurant has been in Edgewater for about 10 years and it's just as good as I remembered. The service was excellent... as the waiter attended to our needs and answered our questions in a polite fashion. The portions are large and delicious.
