Just ordered Oxtail and Jerk chicken. Nothing was fresh, and does not taste anything like Caribbean Island food! Wasted $38. Not... even worth a one star, half a star! Read more

I ordered online and when I got there the food wasn't made even though I got text and email confirmation for pick up time. The... Jerk pork was okay, the Jerk chicken was borderline tasteless. The curry goat and oxtail were fula salt!!! We couldn't even eatthem that's how salty it was. Read more

Honestly I just paid over 80.00 dollars like 30 mins ago for food that was somewhat edible .. the rice was undercooked and old ... and crunchy and the beans were so hard and dried out!! RICE SHOULD NOT BE HARD AND CRUNCHY So that is a FAIL! The chicken had aweird smell almost like mildew or something like it ( the only thing I can compare the smell to would be like if you have an oldsponge for cleaning dishes and leave it on the side of your kitchen sink for awhile ), and was cold..so safe to say I took onebite and spit it out ...I don't think the chicken was properly cleaned or something else .. however definitely the best oxtailI've had in awhile... but then again it was the only part of my order that was hot and that I actually ate! Just want to pointout the only part of my order that was freshly cooked was the oxtail!!! This was my first experience ordering from Flava Cafeand I feel like I got severely ripped off! Definitely not worth what they are charging people! So this is a miss for me! *Do notorder the jerk chicken ...it's funky* Read more

I had a very unpleasant experience with this cafe. I want to keep an open mind and believe that not all Jamaican food tastes... like this, so I think that my experience is a reflection of the lacking quality of this place, not necessarily of Jamaicancuisine generally. I have never had Jamaican food before this restaurant and I sadly regret Flava Cafe being my first experiencewith Jamaican food. I ordered: The Mac and Cheese, The Beef Patty, Fried Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Rice and peas with Coleslaw andsalad on the side. Every single one of these items was more disappointing than the next. The Mac and cheese: it was essentiallyKraft Dinner from a box put into a styrofoam container and sold to the public. The Beef Patty: It lacked flavour, although itwas nice and airy but the taste was not up to par. I had had authentic Jamaican beef patties and this was truly adisappointment. The Jerk Chicken: Probably the most shocking aspect of my meal was the quality of the chicken. Although it wasnot dry, it was NOT well seasoned whatsoever, the chicken actually did not seem to be thoroughly cleaned because it had apeculiar odour. The same can be said for the fried chicken. The rice and peas: Lacked flavour once again, was cold. It wasedible but mediocre. I hate to write a review like this because I would not want to hurt this business but I hope that FlavaCafe can adjust these things to have more flavour, more spice and to be overall of better quality.
