Pleasant atmosphere and great service. The margherita pizza's flavours felt muted, and some of the bottom of the pizza was soggy... and stuck to the plate. I had higher hopes for the $17 margherita. Read more
Had the distinct pleasure of visiting this establishment for the first time, and I was impressed from the moment I walked in the... door. The food was fantastic and they have a superb wine selection. The staff are exemplary in ensuring their customer needsare met. From the hostess to the general manager, I can't say enough positive things about the staff. Super impressed. I wouldbe remiss if I didn't mention our server Ruth. If there's anyone who understands how customer service can make or break anexperience, it would be her. We had a delightful evening dining at this restaurant. Our server, Rafat, was pleasant, engaging and attentive. He introduced us... to Vassilev, a young lady who left Ukraine and found a home with an Edmonton lady who opened her home to her. She was jobshadowing. Kudos to to everyone assisting her make a new life here. Back to the meal. Unsure what wine we wanted, Rafat askedwhat we like and he brought 3 samples. We really wanted to go Italian, however of the 3, we found the Argentinian red thesmoothest. I ordered the lasagna, it was excellent. It had the right amount of meat and pasta, the sauce was perfect. Thespaghetti carbonara and the salmon and shrimp meals were equally delicious. Overall, it was a lovely evening out. I only haveone minor critique, the two specials, both contained seafood. I waited to write this review until I had been here a few times. My boss loves Sorrentino's and he gave out gift cards to here... for Christmas so I went and tried. Their food is DIVINE! The gift card got used up pretty quickly because it is on the moreexpensive side but it is so worth it. So many vegetarian options and they all taste sooooo good. So far I have tried theirfunghi misti pizza, roasted cauliflower (it's creamy and delicious), sorrentino salad (the red wine vinaigrette is to die forand the ingredients were so fresh), mushroom risotto, ricotta ravioli (probably the best ravioli I've had at a restaurant),penne arrabiatte with mushrooms instead of sausage (my favourite), and the panna cotta for dessert. My mouth is watering justwriting this review and remembering how good every single thing tasted. The setting is classy and cozy. I love the dim lighting.The tables are a little too close together in my opinion, but I try and get and get a booth every time. The service isimpeccable as well. 10/10 for ambiance overall. I came here for a nice evening with my Grandparents and I had an excellent time here. I ordered the Carne Pizza which included... many different types of meat such as ribs, pepperoni, and sausage. It was very good and it is a great size for a big guy such asmyself. For dessert, I ordered the Carrot Caramel Cake which was delicious. Definitely coming back here again. Read more
