A must try. Sad I had not tried this place sooner. We dined in for lunch and it was very tasty. The food was hot and full of... flavor. The sauces provided were varied enough that each of us were able to find one we liked (I recommend the Alberta Sweet,it was good). I don't know what kind of pickle they gave but if you are a pickle fan you will love the one you get, it wasdelicious. Finally made it to the Transit to try the new bbq joint out and it was fantastic. The three of us ordered a four-meat platter... with a side of Mac and cheese and corn bread and it was more than enough food that we took some home. The meat was very tasty,particularly the brisket. Both sides were delicious as well. We went for dessert after and ordered the ginger cake (AMAZING) andthe smoked blueberry ice cream (very intriguing and delicious as well). Dropped in on a Saturday night for a date night. We had no idea what we were going for, we just thought it was cool that the old... building had been bought and wanted some BBQ. Walked in and realized there was live music, as we were taken to our seats theatmosphere of the place was great. Our server was really nice and helped us make some choices. We got brisket and sausage aswell as fries and ceaser salad and everything was yummy. The owner/manager came and spoke with us and was really friendly andasked how everything was. My family took me here as a birthday treat. Had never been before but have wanted to try it out since they opened. The food was... really very very good. 3 of us ordered the brisket and the other ordered the ribs. We all chose the 2/3 lb portion and it wasmore than enough. No need for a knife, the brisket fell apart on your fork and was absolutely delicious. The ribs fell off thebone. The lattice fries were an unexpected delight, crisp and tasty. The live entertainment was great. The artist had awonderful voice and his music was not too loud, played mostly pop rock songs that made you want to sing along. The restaurantwas about half full, there was one server and the owner yet the service was friendly and we did not have to wait long for ourfood. Rave to a great local north side business! Just checked out Transit Smokehouse & BBQ last night and it was AMAZING!! The food... was delicious and the owner was so friendly and came and spoke to us. They have blueberry smoked ice cream. And my 5 year oldalso loved all the food. (Go waffle fries!) Definitely worth a visit. Definitely will be back! It's right off fort road in anold hotel! Read more
