We used to go here quite a bit, as the food was excellent, and they had good service. A few years ago, however, we saw that... they were closed on random days, and they were getting fairly hostile on social media. They closed for a while, but when theyrecently reopened, we hoped they'd returned to their former success; we were disappointed. They no longer list their mealcomponents on the menu. For example, the chicken and waffles is loaded with onions (I've never seen onions on chicken andwaffles anywhere else) and their shrimp and grits comes with low quality bacon that is also a surprise when it comes out. Theservice was mixed. The hostess was clearly over her head, but was seemingly getting no help. Our server was ok, but we didn'tget salad with our meal, the other tables did, and she didn't write anything down, so she had to come back to check on what mywife ordered (she brought my drink along, so my wife just had to wait). We also waited a rather long time for the check. Inher defense, there was a huge table that was holding the entire restaurant hostage, as everyone seemed terrified to do anythingbut yield to their every desire. Apparently the owners want a catering hall more than a restaurant, so we won't return unlesswe want a prescribed menu with unlisted components and we have 13 annoying friends. Read more
