Absolutely amazing. Waiter was great plus it was trivia night! My family didn't play in the game,but we had fun guessing the... questions. Personally the "best burger in elgin" vote is mostly accurate. Personally I like E.P.H, but these burgers are verygood. Read more
We had the Elotes Shrimp Tacos and the Hilltop Burger - both were good. We heard thier enchilada salad and wraps were good too.... If your looking for a good restaurant to watch sports [inside] or listen to live music [outside] then this is your place. Bararea seemed nice too. Service was about par for the course - I can see it being hit or miss. Overall, a good resturant to bringa group of friends or family too. $$ Food was unique but unexceptional. The cheesy beef rolls were a very unlikely fusion of an Italian beef and an egg roll. It... was awesome and the horseradish sauce: dank, delicate. The fish tacos were riddled with bones. The Nashville chicken was justok. The first bite was the best one because it only went downhill from there. The drinks were well made for sure and theservice was very timely. We ordered Lunchboxes and the server or bartender knew what they were and even asked if we wanted themas bombs or straight cocktails which is a nod to knowledge. The electric iced tea was an amazing twist to a long Island. Thefact that that drink cost the same as a absolute seltzer was a little extreme. The place looks great as your pulling in, nice and modern. We sat outside on a beautiful day it really was nice. But?.. the... service, although friendly it was terribly slow for no reason. My wife enjoyed the walleye even though she asked for tacos andwe were served the fillet. I ordered the brisket sandwich and as an avid bbq?er and smoker I can tell you that the brisket wasnot fresh at all not even from the same day, they put bbq sauce on the sandwich which is wonderful but there was not nearlyenough AND they don?t offer multiple types of bbq sauce which is insane if you ask me,and it needed a lot more sauce. noteveryone likes generic bbq sauce especially for something as nice as brisket so you would think, but after receiving thebrisket sandwich I could see that they do not take pride in their brisket at all. I think they slice it up and then cook it, Idon?t think they smoke it because it was as red as corn beef inside with no bark at all and no smoke ring because the wholething was pink and oh so fatty, I assume they don?t trim their point. This place was packed Saturday. They had a stage set up outside for a band which was cool. The atmosphere and vibe were there.... The food was not good, but like I said it was very busy. So I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Our service was also notgreat, but again super packed. I would try this place again to see if it was just an off night. Read more
