My wife and I came in to town for a late Sunday lunch. I had the burger which had a very respectably sized burger patty and was... was very good. My wife had the loaded baked potato which was also responsibly sized and very good. In talking with the waiter wewere surprised to learn that Joseph's has been there five years (we don't get out much). The decor & music were pleasant, thebooth seating was comfortable, the food was good, and we'll look forward to coming back to try out the steaks on another day. Read more
Edit: Today is the 3rd time I have driven all the way to this place, only to find it closed. At lunchtime on a Saturday. As... stated in my previous review, the food, atmosphere, and drinks are great! Unfortunately it doesn?t matter how good you are, ifyou aren?t there. Such a shame! Don?t waste your time! Never again. Absolutely fantastic! The food and service is great! Likeothers have mentioned?the hours of operation is spotty. I?m giving 5 stars based on my experience but I will piggy back on thereviews that mention they drove all the way here only to find locked doors. I raved aDont bout this place! Only to be let down!Drove all the way from Austin to find locked doors after dining here a week prior at the same time!?!? I gave 5 stars onlybecause I do not wish to hurt your business because the food and experience was deserving of the highest rating. The staff (meaning my waiter, which took me to my table took my order and took my payment) was pleasant Atmosphere is typical... Texas cowboy, but with Italian romance music, which was bizarre .. not bad, just odd. I ordered Bacon wrapped filets,medium-rare/ medium. I told waiter I was concerned with the steak being overcooked .. and it was. The filet pieces were sosmall, there was no way to properly cook the bacon without overcooking the steak. That stated, the bacon was quite delicious andthe star of that tray. Presentation was, well, you decide My entree was the Chicken fried chicken with dinner gravy and a loadedpotatoe. The chicken tasted fresh as did the fried ness. It was not greasy, which is a plus. Chicken was a bit tough though,that was disappointing. Most disappointing was the utter lack of flavor, and you KNOW for me, Flavor is King! The chicken andgravy just lacked any taste honestly. I was able to juice it up with bacon from the appetizer and some salt and pepper, butotherwise quite bland. The loaded potato was quite good though, with the fixings! Overall I would return, because the quality ofthe food was good and atmosphere and staff were nice .. There was an insect in one of our drinks. We were very please with the staff and the food, until my wife saw the dead insect in... my drink. She had the waiter call the manager, but the manager told him to tell us that he/she was too busy to come and it wouldtake him/she about 15mins. She told the waiter that that wasn't acceptable and explained the situation to him and he went backto talk to the manager, this time he took the drink with him to show him/her the insect inside and came back to apologize aboutthe insect, no manager with him, since he/she was too busy even for that. An insect in a clients drink and the manager nevershowed! That can get us SICK and the manager didn't think that it was important enough to come?!
