My wife and I decided to go out this evening to grab a little bite to eat and ended up in Elmhurst. Decided to stop at the... oyster bar Shay/Shae(my apologies if I butchered your name)our waitress was absolutely phenomenal!!!!!! She recommended exactlythe perfect meals for us and the perfect drinks I had a cucumber martini that she suggested I try infused with jalapeno and ohmy God. You have to try it. The food (hats off to the chef) and service from all the staff was absolutely fantastic. The costwas right where it should be for the caliber of food and service you get. My husband and I usually go out for a nice dinner at least once on the weekends, topaz, carnivore and the queen, Edie &... Merlot‘s, etc. but when we have our granddaughter overnight, we order pick up & eat at home. Carnivore & the Queen was closedfor a couple of weeks for holiday, so we decided to try victory. We were incredibly disappointed. My husband got there right ontime when the order was supposed to be ready and ended up waiting for nearly 40 minutes for the food to actually be ready. Thehost was pleasant and tried to be accommodating, but the kitchen manager or back of the house manager was completely rude, couldnot care less about getting an order out for carry out and was actually surly about it. On their website they clearly statethey welcome curbside and pick up orders in addition to dine in, but it was evident that that is not the case. Carnivore & theQueen is not too far from Elmhurst & is an incredibly elegant, beautiful space, the food is consistently very high-quality andthe owners and staff are tremendous hosts. Whether we dine in or pick up, it’s always the same, delicious food in a warmwelcoming environment with a truly gracious staff. When my husband got home with the food from Victory, steaks, asparagus andthe wedge, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. Due to the rude way he was treated while waiting for the food, we’llnever be back to victory, and we would never recommend it to anyone. Wow. My delicious scallops in risotto tasted so fresh that, for a second, I thought I was sitting on an East Coast pier on the... Atlantic. Fancy drinks were plentiful and staff was very attentive. Although my family snuck in without a reservation (my wifeis persuasive), I would definitely recommend getting a reservation, especially on weekends. I loved everything. My wife and I dine in Elmhurst often, and had passed by your restaurant many times. This time I made a point... of coming there and am happy that did so. The wait staff was attentive and our waitress delightful. She explained everything,did not rush us, timed everything so food does not get cold, and made us feel very welcome. The menu was great. It hadeverything that one would want on a single page. We came for steak and seafood, and got exactly that. Seafood was preparedunique and deliciously, and filet was done as ordered. Although the wine menu was impressive, we opted for a spicy Margarita,which was done perfectly. Though the lighting was romantic, tables had small lights on them that made it perfect. They hadthought of everything. All together, we found a new favorite place in Elmhurst and I recommend it to all. You wont bedisappointed. Read more

Cannot say enough about this restaurant. I had oysters for happy hour which were superb and fresh. Then a fabulously warm,... toasted, topped with cheese bread comes out with marinara sauce comes out. It was perfect with my Buffal Empire cocktail. Iwas not rushed at all. Mine shrimp risotto came out at just the right time and it was nothing short of fabulous. What madethe evening even better was my wait person, Stephanie. It is not easy to go out by yourself, but she put me at ease. I'd neverheard of this restaurant, but I happened to be in Elmhurst. What a great piece of luck to find this gem. The restaurant is asmidgen pricey, but we'll worth it for the food and service. Read more
